IACO Football 2021
The purpose of IACO shall be to foster and promote amateur athletic sports by providing for the recruitment, training and ongoing education of amateur athletic sports officials. The NOA is an IACO member and we should all take advantage of the training and education provided by IACO. Here are some upcoming football training opportunities.
IACO New Officials football class - This free class is geared for those either brand new to football officiating or who have 1-4 years experience and want to accelerate their learning curve. The 6 week course includes presentations and game film analysis on rules, penalty enforcement, and game timing plus on-field instruction on proper mechanics/positioning. Those completing the class will have the opportunity to officiate games this coming season.

IACO football clinics are being done in 2 different modes this year. The Level 1 and Level 2 clinics are separate. The IACO clinics continue to be the premier football clinic in the Chicago area. This year's Level 1 clinic is August 7th at Naperville North HS. The cost is $20 for the clinic. The Level 2 clinic will be held via Zoom on August 9th starting at 6:15pm. More details to come on signing up.

Summer NOA Meeting
Since we haven't gotten together as a group in so long, we will be having an all-NOA Zoom meeting on Wednesday, June 23, at 7pm (Zoom details to come soon). In this meeting we will be discussing the following:
1. Since we didn't have a banquet last year or this year, we will recognize those that won NOA awards last year.
2. The general NOA business meeting (normally held at the banquet)
3. Plans for the fall (football/basketball tentative schedule)
4. Any other topics you want to bring up
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy summer. Hope to see you on Wednesday.

Football Covid Guidelines
Everyone should continually check the Covid guide for Football on the IHSA website. It is being updated regularly.

The latest change is that all officials must wear a mask at all times. This requires us to figure out how to work with a whistle under the mask or use an electronic whistle (which has so far not been popular).
Stay up-to-date.
