Mike Rose was one of the Founding Fathers of the NOA and was a long time official in the northern Illinois area. He worked as the Postmaster in North Chicago for many years, always giving public service his best. The NOA honors a high school coach or athletic director each year who has also given an enormous amount of time, effort, and support to high school athletics in northern Illinois. The award is given to recognize longevity in high school sports, excellent public relations with players, officials, fans, contact with NOA members, and contributions to our association.
