Northern Officials Association - Lake County IL

The N. O. A. Board of Directors established a special award for the "Official of the Year" in each of the major sports that the N.O.A. sponsors.  This award is presented for accomplishments an official achieves during the past season and is not intended to be a "Lifetime" award. 

Members are aware of the many great accomplishments of our veteran colleagues who have set the examples and goals we all strive for and know they are proud of those accomplishments.  The criteria established for the "Official of the Year" award, though, is only intended to address the success of an official during the past season.  A committee consisting of sport presidents, representatives, assignment chairmen, and general members agreed to the criteria.  The recipient of the award is the N.O.A. official who best fulfills the following criteria.

*Covid-19 caused no or shortened sports seasons

2.   PROMOTION OF THE ASSOCIATION

1. Recommendation of new members
2. Scrimmage work - P.R.
3. I.H.S.A. or I.A.C.A.O. interaction

3.   ASSISTANCE

1. Assignment Chairman
2. President or General Chairman
3. General Membership

4.   ACHIEVEMENT

1. Promotion in rating or Certified at the beginning of the season.
2. State playoff assignments round
3. Recognition from outside the N.O.A.
